July 2010 AstroPhotography Contest Winner:
Elephants Trunk Nebula by Paramount

Hi
I took this image over 3 nights finishing it at the beginning of July, It is of IC1396 which is a large expansive emission nebula including the Elephants Trunk Nebula. It was taken with a Takahashi FSQ106ED and Starlight Xpress SXVF H36 on a Paramount ME, it is 12x20 for Ha and 9x20 each for OIII and SII mapped to the HST palette, autoguiding was done by a Lodestar camera and OAG
Thanks for looking
Best wishes
Gordon

MyAstroImages.com Goal, and Purpose:

This site was designed for the Astrophotography community. Where amateurs astronomers can share their AP experiences. Share processing ideas, and techniques. I have found many of the larger sites talk "in general" about processing, and often processing is expressed as "I applied Levels, and Curves"! What?!? How do you apply Levels, and Curves?

My hope is this site will grow with tutorials that will help amateurs and veterans astronomers learn how to create fantastic astro images!
